Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Looks and works very good This cassette with red spacers looks great. It is not the lightest cassette on market but I removed 3 cogs it became much lighter 17 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by very robust nice cassette good gear sizing and very efficient, use with knc x9 gold chain....the bling effect wicked too buy one 16 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sram speaks for itself Cassette arrvd as Described. Very impressed with very fast shipping/delivery 01 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by strong and durable A great cassette for any DH bike. I have this fitted to three wheelsets and for me I like the gear spread. All quite close, giving short and sharp gear changes when I need them. However, if pedalling up as well as down is your thing. then this isn't the cassette for you I'd say. As it really comes into it's own on a single ring set-up and heading downwards. Looks trick with the red spacers and although not one for the weight conscious, it is strong and it'll soak up hamfisted gear swaps and trial violence well enough. Keep it maintained and correctly lubed and it'll last you well. 08 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good cassette A good value cassette. The rings are all separate so you can creat your own cluster if you like, the only thing to consider is this can lead to them digging into the free hub if you have an alloy free hub. 29 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect for downhill and free ride it is a great cassette with nice close gears so easy to slowly go through them when on track 15 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by BRILLIANT PRODUCT Really strong & smooth with the bling factor as a bonus ,highly recommended . 08 January 2014

Answer:
Yes, it surely can be done. Shimano Saint works well with this cassette, both as a rear mech and a crankset. I can't imagine that you'll have any issues with a Shimano chain either.

Answer:
This cassette is designed primarily for use with SRAM freehub bodies; if the Novatec hub is SRAM compatible then it will be fine.
