SRAM Powerlink Connector

Every chain is only as strong as its weakest link - traditionally, the connecting link. In contrast, the PowerLink™ connection is just as strong and durable as every other link in the chain. It can be opened and closed as may times as you want without using any tools.

SRAM Powerlink Connector Features:

  • PowerLink means no weak links.
  • NB: 2 pieces (2 parts of one chain link) and (3 parts of one chain link)
  • IMPORTANT: The 7,8,and 9 speed links have 2 sides and 1 spacer. 10sp & 11sp Links are POWERLOCK, they fit together but then are not designed to come apart again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what its supposed to It's a quick link. Bit expensive, but very handy. Remember you can't get them apart again though. 15 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Don't leave home without them Makes reconnecting the chain simple and quick - perfect for on the trail 15 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Отлично Хорошие замки больше нечего сказать замок-замком. Золотой цвет хорошо смотриться )))))) 10 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Очень полезная мелочь. Супер! Позволяет рассоединить звенья цепи без выжимки ( скажем для промывки) Очень удобно. Надежно фиксирует звенья в соединенном состоянии. Рекомендую. 03 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Can be a life saver on the trail This review is based on fresh experience After faceplanting on my stem last from a snapped chain in Haldon carpark - I was extremely pleased to find a spare Powerlink in my bag Easy to fit and chain fixed in seconds. The only real downside from the Powerlink, is that for 10speed, it's a permanent fix, and not one where you can just unslide the link to re-remove for say, cleaning Can't moan though because in this case - it worked perfectly 02 April 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Pointless This device is completely pointless. I bought 10 speed version. There is NO WAY you will be able to disconnect it on the trail or even in the shop. Once you put them on they will not come off. It's completely defeating the idea of having this device. After 15 min fighting with it I just used my chain removal tool and removed normal link as I used to. It was actually faster and easier to do it old way. 31 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerlink para 10 velocidades: vienen dos. Perfecto powerlink: práctico y ligero. Perfecto para llevar como recambio en caso de emergéncia. 24 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quick and fast Best tool to have with you in MTB race - get s you up and running quickly 22 March 2014

Answer:
Yes; even though Shimano only suggest the use of their own Chain pins with their chains, they are also compatible with the SRAM Powerlink technology.

Answer:
These will work ok with Shimano chains if you wish to use them. I carry one all the time for emergency use in the event of chain failure; fortunately I haven't needed to fit it....yet!

Answer:
Probably. Have never tried it that way round but have fitted 9 speed shimano links to a 10 speed sram chain and it was fine for months. Not just sitting in the shed either mind, lasted as long as the rest of the chain with no issues. Hope this helps.

Answer:
These connectors are designed primarily for use with SRAM chains; for KMC it is best to use their own quick links.

Answer:
These SRAM powerlinks work great with Shimano chains, but for no-hassle connections with your KMC chain I would choose KMC's own connector, they're called quicklinks.

Answer:
SRAM Powerlinks and Shimano chains are not listed as cross-compatible. The Shimano chains suggest using official Shimano pin connectors only. The KMC Connector (linked below) is compatible with KMC, SRAM, Campagnolo and Shimano 11sp chains.
