Rated 5 out of 5 by Does their job. Ripped off the gripshifters from my daughters Islabike as they were a bit hard to twist. Mounted these instead (and a wider bar, -endurostyle;)), works brilliantly for a 7-yearold girl. 28 August 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by trigger shift not good for children i just fitted these shifter to my 8 year olds carrera detonate 2.0 v spec to replace grip shift. disappointed in trigger design.thumb shift is fine but other trigger is not a great. he struggles to shift as you have to push it forward/up with your finger and he is not stong enough to do this at his age. would consider changing to shimano set up in future as finger shift on there design is a simple pull back mech.chain reaction as normal great delivery and service. 29 June 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Этот продукт плохой. Переключатель сломался в первый же день пользования. 20 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by awesome Awesome stuff...good deal...low price and high quality 07 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well worth the money, easy to fit Got these recently for my 9 year old son who has a carrera detonate bike so I could replace the hopeless sram grip shifters. The grip shifters had become very stiff and I had replaced the cables once about 6 months ago but they began to stiffen up again. I bought the pair of trigger shifters from crc which included both the front and rear shifters for €19.99. They come complete with inner cable but no outer cable. I used the old outer cable and sprayed some 3 in 1 oil down into them. Fitted and tuned in about 20 minutes for the rear triggers and about 10 mins for the front trigger. Loads of advice on this on youtube. The difference between the old grip shift and these is quite remarkable. My son is absolutely delighted and can switch gears way easier. He rides our local trail with me and has been out twice with the trigger shifters already and has no problems yet. A local bike shop quoted me over €100 to supply and fit these! I saved at least €80 by buying from crc and fitting them myself. Don't think twice about replacing the sram grip shifters with these - do it now. P.S. These are only compatible with sram derauillers - get shimano for shimano etc 25 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent budget shifter Works well with the X4 derailleur. Shifting feels clean and snappy, however the plastic on the product can feel flimsy and a tad slack when shifting down gears. 30 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality and price Used as a replacament for my second bike worked out perfectly few months already and not a single problem.would recomend 14 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sweet. Got these 3x7 Shifters along with a 7/8 Speed long cage rear derailleur. The system was simple to setup and was pretty much bang on with only very very minimal adjustment needed to get the shifting perfect, all in all a great shifter for the money. 15 November 2012

Answer:
On this listing a pair is a combination of the Left Hand and Right Hand shifter for the front and rear of the drivetrain.

The Left Hand shifter is a 3x -speed for the front derailleur and the Right Hand shifter is a 7x - speed to control the rear derailleur.

The OEM SRAM SX-5 7 Speed shifter on my MTB needs replacing - as I broke off the upshift lever in a crash yesterday - but I can't find any SX-5 7 speeds anywhere on the net. I assume I need a 7 speed as I'm running a 7 speed cassette and have a short deraillieur arm. Is this a sensible alternative, or is there something better?

Answer:
As the older SX-4 and SX-5 levers use the same cable pull ratio (1:1) as the new X series; this lever will be a good upgrade to a 7-speed drivetrain.

Answer:
At the moment there are not too many options for 7 speed drivetrains. The standard is higher than it used to be so right now for a 7 speed read derailleur the X3 is the only option from SRAM. It is a good product but not as good as the SX5. If your budget allows this you might want to consider an upgrade of the derailleur and cassette and opt for more gears :). An 8 speed option will be cheap but a 9 speed upgrade will offer an even better value for money. ;)

Answer:
The shorter, lower profile shifter moves the chain to the highest gear (smallest sprocket). The longer lever reduces the gearing; moving the chain to the lowest gear (largest sprocket).

Answer:
In the case of the rear shifter the long trigger shifts to lower gear while on the front shifter the long trigger shifts to higher gear. Sounds weird but once the shifters are installed it all makes sense instantly and getting used to them is very easy.

Answer:
Unfortunately due to the variation in the cable pull ratio between Shimano and SRAM; the shifters and derailleurs are not compatible.

Please supply more information on the model and speed of the derailleur to our Technical Department below and we can try to assist further -

Shifters only come with 'inner gear' cable. The suggested 'gear outer' kit below should solve the problem.
