SRAM XX Rear Derailleur 10sp

XX was a global effort. Working across ten locations in six countries with an amazing team of engineers and designers, we collaborated to build the new standard of lightweight MTB performance. Driven and tested by our global teams of athletes, XX became a reality.

XX was an idea whose time was right: our first MTB group. We didn’t just want to be better—we wanted to be beyond comparison. Revolutionary front shifting, unmatched ergonomics, and unequalled hydraulic remote suspension lock-out, all in the first-ever 2x10 MTB package. But don’t take our word for it. Hear what our elite test athletes and tech support has to say.

The Continuation of the Sram Legacy. Leveraging the legendary history of SRAM shifting, the XX Rear Derailleur delivers incredible speed and precision. Sealed ceramic pulleys give you the highest levels of durability. The carbon fiber cage has a dedicated length specific to 2x10. Exact Actuation technology eliminates slop and shifting variation. It’s a rear derailleur perfected for ultimate off-road performance.

Precision equals consistency equals victory. XX uses the Exact Actuation shifting technology developed for SRAM road to help give you the ultimate MTB shifting experience. Exact Actuation delivers an identical 3mm adjustment between each gear on the cassette, replacing the typical slop found between gears with a crisp, clean, and immediate shift. This consistent, precise adjustment means smoother, faster, and better shifting with no variation in pull effort from gear to gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Безупречное качество! Четкая работа в любых условиях. Прочный, несмотря на карбоновую лапку, которая кстати имеет жесткость не хуже чем на ХО. Ну и естественно вес и внешний вид восхищают! 07 June 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by I had this on my xc race bike for six months I was very disappointed in this drivetrain including brakes it only lasted six months from new when I was told it would be cheaper to replace I went to xtr I have had no faults so far on xtr xx is to flimsy and to lightweight SRAM needs to realise that it's not just weight that counts even on an xc race bike you need your componants to get you across the finish line safely and be able to use them again 06 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb I've got this standard on my new S Works Enduro, mixed with xo. Quick precise shifting, more spring tension than shimano so less chain slap. I was a shimano man on all my bikes bar the dh bike which had Sram, I liked the solid feel of the lever when shifting and did less shift mistakes on rough ground at speed with Sram. But the xo/xx feels lighter than the old 9 speed x9 (dh rig), and rivals shimano for "sensitivity". Awesome! 21 November 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Torx 25 on all bolts! This time SRAM have used their brains. Can't really say I feel that it shifts better than X.0 but it sure is smooth, quick and precise. Though the biggest difference and the best thing about it is that all bolts are torx 25, including the frame-mounting bolt. (And that goes for the whole XX group, torx 25 on all bolts, you only need hex wrenches for the chainrings and crankarms and a smaller torx for the oil plug on the lever) 11 May 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by I have only tested the mech at a demo day. it's great, seamless shifting, no skips , no problems. And not to be on a sour note but the above review is complete tosh, its a lightweight xc mech, why on earth did you do a 2' drop with it???. THIS IS BETTER THAN XTR, BY MORE THAN A MILE 30 December 2009

Hello CR,
Will the XX be compatible with 24t / 38t chainrings?
The SRAM compatibility chart on their website would indicate that it would not, showing only larger chain rings would suit.
I am unable to see why it would make a difference.
I am currently running mid cage X9 and wish to upgrade.
Thanks for your time

The medium cage variant of this derailleur should be a fine upgrade within your current drivetrain.

2x10 and 3x10?

Hi,

It's mentioned that it's made for 2x10, will I have any issues running it at 3x10?

If not, do I need to have a special care?

Thanks!

Answer:
The XX chainset was a double specific crankset so the XX derailleur was designed to match with this and so is not listed as compatible with a 3x10 system. The 'Long Cage' version runs a 93mm cage length so it may work with a triple setup, but you are recommended to opt for 'Long Cage' X0 version instead
