SRAM XX1 11 Speed Crankset

Developed for maximum chain control, each tooth’s thickness is precisely CNC-machined to support the chain’s inner and outer links perfectly. Six available chain rings (28-30-32-34-36-38) allow you to tune your gear range to match your terrain, wheel size and riding style. Each X-SYNC™ chain ring fits a single, universal spider—allowing you to change rings without removing the light-weight carbon crank arm.

“Please note, chainring is NOT included”

Features:

  • New tooth profile alternates thickness by inner and outer links, providing maximum chain control
  • Carbon arms with forged aluminum spider
  • CNC-machined rings (28-30-32-34-36-38)
  • New spider design allows for easier ring changes
  • Wide/narrow Q factor cranks for BB30 and GXP

which q-factor?

Which Q-factor do i need? I'll be running GXP BB on a 2010 Specilaized Enduro in 1 x 10 configuration. Are the sizes standard and wide, or standard and narrow? (I imagine standard Q would be playing it safe. Thank you

Answer:
The 156mm Q-Factor is 'Narrow' while the 166mm is 'Wide/ Standard' - many frames will not have chainstay clearance for the 156mm; you should check with your Specialized dealer to confirm which Q-factor your frame is best suited to.

Answer:
The XX1 system is ideally suited to All Mountain, Cross Country and Enduro style riding; which is where the bonus of 11-gear, wide ratio cassettes has its advantage.

However the crankset could effectively be used on a DownHill bike (although may void warranty) but we are not aware of a variant to fit an 83mm Bottom Bracket shell at present.

Answer:
For a 68mm English thread frame you can use the 'GXP' version of this crank. For Q-Factor, 168mm should fit just about any frame, while the 156mm will suit some compact frames. If unsure, you can measure your current Q-Factor (distance between the outside face of each crank arm while on the bike - commonly between 160 and 170), or just err on the side of caution and go for the 168mm.

The BB30 crankset would be the option you require; paired with a PF30 bottom bracket this setup will be fine.

The GXP crankset will be fine to run on the BB92 as this is its intended use for a pressfit frame.

Answer:
You will need the GXP spindle with the 168mm Q-Factor. To confirm the length of your existing cranks you can simply measure them from pedal insert to axle (image below for reference).
