A great rim for all mountain, heavy duty trail use as well as slalom, mountain cross, or Super-D events.
Black anodized finish
FEA optimized centre arch for added stiffness
This is NOT a tubeless (UST) rim. The appropriate tubeless rim kit must be purchased separately before running tubeless a set up.
By eliminating the bead hook and lowering the sidewall by 2-3mm we reduce the weight of the rim. Some of this material can be used in the centre part of the rim making it stronger and stiffer.
The curve of the rim sidewall is the same shape as the bead of the tyre so they fit together like a ball and socket joint. This design will help reduce the strain on the tyre bead while creating a tighter seal.
By lowering the sidewall of the rim we also reduce the mechanical leverage the tyre has on the rim. This will make the rim stiffer and last longer by eliminating flexing that can cause cracking.
With these short sidewalls the tyre should not hit the rim and pinch flat as often as standard rims, either with or without tubes. This design will allow you to run lower pressures and use 4mm more of the tyre than ever before. The tyre will have larger air volume giving you better traction.
ISO - 622x22.6
ERD - 600mm
Weight - 525g
Drilling - 28 or 32H
Note: This rim has a small inner valve stem hole to allow use with the small 5g valve stem in conjunction with the 25mm yellow spoke tape. If you are using a UST tire don't use the rim strip, use only the yellow tape. If you want to use the 61g Flow 29er rim strip you can use it with the hole that comes with the rim, but you will have a large bump at the valve stem that will make inflating with a floor pump more difficult.
If you want to use the 61g Flow 29errim strip and inflate tires easily with a floor pump you should enlarge your inner rim cavity hole to 3/8 inch. Keep in mind, once you enlarge the inner valve stem hole to use the rim strip you can no longer use the small 5g valve stem, as the inner rim cavity hole will be too big.
