Tacx Blue Motion

Tacx proudly presents the Blue, the new generation of cycletrainers for the general public. The Blue Motion, Matic and Twist are the long-expected successors of the Cycletrack, Tacx’s first model ever that has been very popular for decades thanks to its excellent value for money. The same can be expected of the Blue, because you get more for less: a powerful brake that manages the resistance and a robust frame with solid back legs. Tacx’s many years of experience have resulted in the design of this stable construction that can withstand all forces.

The Blue is suitable for everyone, whether you cycle a lot or just every now and then. A quick half an hour’s ride before dinner? With the Blue you can start immediately. The trainer has a simplified mounting system, which makes it easy and quick to assemble. A tool set for small and big wheels is no longer needed; even 29 MTB wheels do fit.

Powerful Neodymium brake - The top model of the Blue cycletrainers. The Blue Motion features the same brake system as the Satori. The powerful Neodymium magnet, the extra-large steel flywheel of 1,6 kg and the 10 position handlebar resistance lever allow for very high powers at low pedalling frequencies. The maximum resistance is 950 Watt.

Tacx Blue Motion Features:

  • Cycletrainer:
    • Handlebar resistance lever, 10 positions
    • Blue frame with solid back legs
    • Universal fit for wheels with diameter 600 to 710 mm
    • Easy to assemble brake system
  • Magnetic brake:
    • Brake system with 1 powerful Neodymium magnet and 1.6 kg flywheel
    • Maximum resistance 950 Watt

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by простой и удобный Выполняет свою функцию на 100 % Не заметил особой необходимости в покупке специальной покрышки. Все пишут про шум при работе, не заметил, небольшой гул начинается только от 110 об./мин. Покупкой доволен. 16 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Power Overload I purchased this item taking advantage of a discount code over the bank holiday. I had been looking at these for what seems like an age but when I saw the discount code I took the plunge. The resistance offered on this model can be cranked up higher than the two models bellow and as high as some of the pro trainers. For a while I had it in my head this was the trainer I wanted. The item was easy to set up and folds down nicely. It is also a good weight so it is not dancing across the room. Upon testing I am finding that the max setting on the handlebar mounted control is more than enough for me allowing me to grow into it as my power gets stronger, none the less I was able to generate enough power to be able to pedal at over 80kph in my living room whilst watching Triathlon coverage on my TV! A great purchase that I look forward to using more! 05 May 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good trainer during wet weather Decent price product if you need to ride indoors. But the resistance isn't very strong if you have intermediate strength levels. 19 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 04 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great turbo for most cyclists. I've just bought a Tacx Blue Motion after borrowing a Satori last winter. In my opinion the Blue Motion is much sturdier than the Satori and suffers a lot less from the side to side movement when you stand up and pump. It's generally pretty quiet, although the one I bought suffers from the "dentist's drill" noise on settings 4-7 reported by a number of people who have the Satori. Apparently this is a fault and I'm returning it for a replacement. It seems to be the same resistance unit as the Satori I used, with the frame being changed for the better. I really have no idea why people are opting to pay £50+ more for the remaining satori stock. The Blue Motion see to me to be a successful upgrade. The Blue Motion is also capable of taking a 29er. You have two options for positioning the roller to accommodate most wheel sizes. 25 December 2013

Answer:
This trainer is compatible with 29er wheels and will perform with a 2.35 width tyre. However a narrower, smooth tyre would be more beneficial for steady performance training.

Answer:
When using a Turbo Trainer it is best advised to run a training tyre; which is narrower to reduce resistance and the height of the tyre is great for engagement with the turbo trainer.

Compatible with a through-axle?

I have a 27.5" MTB wheel with a through-axle (i.e. it is not a quick release skewer). Will I be able to use it with this trainer? Or do I need some kind of adaptor kit?

Answer:
The Tacx Blue Motion is adjustable to suit wheel sizes from 26" up to 700c, so your 27.5 (650b) wheel should be fine. It is supplied suitable for QR axles only; if you need to use a 10/12x135 or 12x142mm rear hub, you will need to pick up the appropriate adapters, as seen here - http://www.tacx.com/en/products/tra...

Answer:
This trainer does not use a Quick Release skewer, but instead uses a clamp/clasp system to hold the rear wheel in place.

It simply clamps over the top of the existing Quick Release skewer that is installed on your bike.

The video below shows how to attach your bike to the trainer.
