The Tao is the absolute top of the range model - unequalled qua design and weight. Design award winner - the iF Silver Award 2003 in the category 'product design'. The shape of the bike and its technical components inspired the designers. A high-quality metal look was chosen. The Tao is punched out of aluminium plate, pressed into shape, anodized for resilience and partly treated with rubber. This not only enhances the design, it improves the clasp and protects the bottle. The water bottle slides into the cage, stays firmly in position and can be reached without looking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by aladdinsdad Disappointing. Avoid.
I'll start with the positive: look great.
Unfortunately doesn't grip bottles anywhere near snug enough (tried 2 different bottle brands) and the constant movement of bottles quickly loosens bolts. Life is too short to be stopping on a ride to tighten cage bolts...
Poor design, avoid.

I've been very happy with this product. I have two fitted on my road bike and they are sturdy and are wearing well after 300-400 miles. I've experienced nothing even close to the sort of cracking/breakage reported by some other users below. I use them with Tacx Shiva Bottles, which fit snugly but are easy enough to get in and out when in motion. They look great too - better in my opinion than a lot of the other options around this price point.

I bought a pair. One cracked around the bolt in the first week. I made a fuss and had a replacement sent. In order to keep riding I bought a matching replacement from a local shop, to fit on the spot.
Now nine months later the last of them have broken. So that's four! They seem to crack or unbond around the bolts. The bolts themselves are non standard and dreadful quality sometimed resulting in loosening, then rattling free on long rides. Asking your mates to stop on a long January ride whilst you tighten cage bolts...
...bottle cages shouldn't be like this.

These are good looking bottle cages that hold regular bottles firmly. They're not without issues though.
To place and remove a bottle from the cage requires some force to get it to sit properly. I'm using Tacx Source bottles, but it's also the same with Campagnolo and others. This has led to one (of my two) cages breaking around the top bolt after less than six months use. The bolts are also non-standard and low quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous Beware!
This is a decent enough cage apart from it has a huge design flaww that makes it very unreliable.
The bottom plastic stop will break off at some point and the bottle will either fall out or drop onto your expensive carbon fibre frame and rub a groove into it.
IU had both things happen at diffent times to different cages.
I informed Tacx and submitted a claim but wasn't even offered a new cage.
I won't be buying anything Tacx again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous I don't ride 'semi pro' and I wasn't given these cages cause I'm probably not genetically superior enough, but I have used them for several years and never lost a bottle over rough roads.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous I ride semi-pro level, and our team gave us these holders past years.
I only expierenced misery.
The holder himself cracks easely. Alse the pad at the bottom broke multiple times. The "rubber?" coating arround the holder gives off a strange colour somethimes (pink)
i say don't buy
