Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well made. Easy to fit. Great value Well made and designed - - the cable routing is well thought out and the levers are a nice shape. I'm using them with Avid BB7 MTB discs and they work well. Easy to fit. Great value. 24 June 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Large and comfortable Very ergonomic shape. Great addition to bar end or down tube shifters if you are using v-brakes and road handlebars 13 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great levers for V-brakes!! Installed these to convert my hybrid to dropbar. Setup was easy and they work wonders with the Shimano Deore V-brakes. Some say it's the cheaper version of the Cane Creek levers (way cheaper!!), but it doesn't feel too flimsy. The materials are good and solid. The only setback is the look, a bit too plain in my opinion. 03 April 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by V-Brake Specific Brake Lever I bought one of these by accident because CRC didn't have the 340 levers. After I ordered the levers I realised that these are for use with V-brakes only. oops... I did a comparison of the two levers and these have significantly more throw ie they will pull the cable further but with less mechanical advantage than caliper levers. They look good quality levers and have a nice feel in the hand but I never fitted them so can't comment on how they would perform. If you want drop bars on your CX, MTB or more likely drop bar conversion on a hybrid with V's then these are OK. 19 August 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent, almost perfect I had canti brakes on the daily commuter. Tried everthing to get them working properly. Change of pads, new inners and outers, changes in geometry and even a change in levers. Still no good. I put v-brakes on with these levers and its 100 percent better. There is a lot clearance between rim and pads, but for the increase in performance, I'll live with it. There are only two item that dont make it perfect. 1.) You need a very long 5mm allen key to do up with lever. 2.) The cable exit at the back does not quite line up with the bars. A bit of work with the file fixed that up. One other really good thing is the quick release button. As most V Brakes dont have a barrel adjuster at the caliper end, there is no quick way to release the brakes, the button makes this easy. Change to v-brakes is wonderfull and these levers are so good and cheap you cant go wrong 09 December 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic value and V brakes plus drops is a winning combo Bought these along with a set of Avid Single Digit 7 V brakes to replace the canti setup on my Surly. These levers are good, hoods are comfy, and price is excellent. Most importantly my brakes are so much better than before so these levers, by allowing me to use V brakes, have totally changed my bike for the better. 04 October 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for converting to drop bar Did the same for my hybrid performance Giant Cypress SL 2005 but was only for a race. Triathlon bar and bar end on my hybrid was not accepted for the race so had to modify my bike with a drop bar. The feature for quick releasing the brake is very usefull. 14 September 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by used to convert from straight bars used to convert to dropped bars on a giant fcr2 - working ok with the mini V brakes. 09 September 2009

Answer:
Yes, these linear pull levers will operate a v-brake/ mechanical MTB disc brake. The new Mechanical disc brakes designed specifically for road use use the standard road cable pull so standard STI road levers will work for them.

Answer:
Yes, the levers are compatible with V-brakes or mechanical disc brakes, or anything that is referred to as "linear-pull" or "direct-pull" brakes.

Answer:
Yes. They work very well with Avid MTB BB7s. I don't know about using with the road version as these require less cable pull - so the results might be a bit fierce.

Answer:
These shifters run a standard clamp size of 23.8mm to fit all standard drop bars. They are a linear pull brake, so only suitable for a V-brake/ mechanical disc brake application. They will not be compatible with caliper road brakes.
