Answer:
This stem is designed to fit a straight 1.5" steerer; the 1 1/8" Tapered version is actually the 1 1/8" clamp version as the top of the steerer tube fits this diameter.

will this fit on my Giant 2012 Trance X2?

As newer trance uses 1.1/4 steerer stem (Overdrive2), I wonder if this stem can be use on my bike. 2ndly...I also heard my bike is using a tapered tube which im not to sure if I got this fact right so will this stem compatible to my bike?

Answer:
The Giant OD2 system runs a specific 1.1/4" steerer diameter, so this 1.5" diameter stem will be too large to suit. Your local Giant dealer should have a selection of 1.1/4" stems available for you to choose from.
