Rated 5 out of 5 by Excelent seatclamp If you're looking for a well made seatclamp that will hold your seatpost securely without having to be overtightened look no further. It's great for use with droper posts as they must not be clamped too tightly. Make sure you follow the instructions and lightly grease the threads of the brass barrel. You'll be impressed with how smooth the bolt feels when you tghten it. 02 July 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great looking seat collar A thing of beauty. Getting another for my other bike to go with the Thomson post. Clamps very well too. Use a torque wrench to get tension right. 24 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best seat collar available? Fantastic product, completely reliable fit and forget collar. Now have these on all my bikes. 09 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great clamp I've had 2 of these now for various bikes, to replace the stock q/r items. They're beautifully constructed and work very well without having to be tightened excessively. Excellent bit of kit. 06 January 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Take care Thomson brilliant quality as normal. Does exactly as it should and a lot better than most! If you need a seat clamp , buy it!!!! **Just one note of care! The bolt threads in to a brass insert to tighten the clamp, which is fitted in place through a hole on the under side of the clamp. Take care when removing the bolt to clean and grease as the brass retention part WILL just fall out! If lost I would imagine getting a spare would be problematic!I just filled the hole of mine with grease!problem solved** 07 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Holds heavy weights I weigh a lot (over 100kgs) and I had a lot of problems with slipping seats. I had tried two other collars but neither held the seat, especially on bumpy trails. The I tried this one. No more seat post slippage at all. Have these on all my bikes now including the road bike. Must buy. 25 November 2012

Answer:
The ideal way to calculate the required clamp diameter is to add 3mm to the seat post diameter. This will allow for the few millimeters spaced by the seat tube on the frame.

The approx seat clamp size you require is the 34.9mm option.

Answer:
The required seatclamp size depends on your frame. Keep in mind that the clamp attaches to the frame which is thicker than the seatpost. Most aluminium frames that use 31.8mm seatposts require a 34.9mm clamp. Keep in mind however that while this may be the most common size it is better to check the frame manufacturer's site. Also steel frames tend to have thinner tubing so they use a smaller clamp size compared to aluminium frames even in the use the same seatpost diameter.
