Rated 3 out of 5 by Carl24 Fair product but not as durable as I expected
These are well designed mud guards, easy to fit and stay in place quite well. They are very effective but let down by cheap materials in critical places.
The Front guard is a 3 piece construction. A central fixing point goes into the forks that holds very well. Then two plastic parts slide on either side. The central point has 2 fragile prongs that stick out and are easily caught then putting the bike in or out of the car. This happened to mine and I broke a prong off. The guards still fit but now flaps around a little. If the central piece had been metal this would not have broken.
The Read has a rubberised fabric strap that locks around the seat post. I remove mine quite regularly (reason for getting this design) and eventually the stitching failed. Heavy handed man stitching has got it working again but they could have done a better job in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jameska55 cheap, can be installed in 5 minutes, durable
i had these mudguards for a while now and i bought a second set this week. great quality, very simple to install and durable. i used this on both trails and commuting to work. no more water spraying onto your face\back. never had any problems, only thing is that it got in the way for my poploc cable but i just took the cable under the mudguard. i just can't understand why people seem to give this product such bad reviews.
if you are looking for a excellent all round mudguard, buy this you will not be sorry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous Avoid, they break
I caught the back mudguard with my leg and the flimsy plastic pin broke. I can accept that that was my fault but it is a weak point. The front bracket snapped off the second time I removed the front guard. Very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous OK for smooth trails
I have found that these are not the best for any rough trail riding. The front guard broke at its fixing point within a fortnight, where the plastic is very thin and I had to do a repair with alloy supports and epoxy. On top of that both front and rear beaks on the front guard consistently wobble about and regularly fall off. Good looking and good for tarmac though. I like the rear guard and may buy a more expensive version of Defender.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous No, no ,no
What can I say but utter, utter, utter rubbish DO NOT buy these. I have just lost 2 hours I will never get back trying to make these work on a bike with 4" travel and tapered forks. Neither end works. Too flimsy and just plain poorly designed

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous Poor quility rear mudguard clasp
The rear mudguard clasp is the weak point in this product. Tightening the clasp is difficult as you cannot use any sort of tool and you must complete it by hand, I over did it a little and the strap tore so currently I am using Cable ties to hold the rear mudguard on, which are doing a better job anyway.
