Rated 4 out of 5 by RU55 Great mud stopper
Since fitting this rear guard I've really noticed a difference in mud fling/road dirt over my back, has taken a couple of spills & still intact, post clamp does slip occasionally but don't want to tighten it further as it seems a tad flimsy, but overall a good guard

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jackk

Rated 3 out of 5 Good guard let down by quality of clamp
Bought this guard specifically for my Lurcher 29er hardtail and I have to say the guard itself certainly does the job in terms of protecting both rider and seatpost/saddle from mud and spray during off road rides. Yes, it does flap about a bit vertically but I can't say I've noticed it hitting the tyre; any movement has to help loosen any attached mud anyway so is probably better than fully rigid.
Adjustment is good so you can line up the guard to your preferred angle and distance from the tyre.
However, the guard is let down by the clamp... I ride quite rocky terrain most of the time, so it does get a bit of a battering, but having only covered just over 300 miles the clamp bracket has snapped on the non-QR side. Luckily I felt the guard fall off so picked up the clamp and guard and *should* be able to drill a hole and fit a sturdy cable tie to enable me to continue using it... bit disappointed though, I feel it should have been more sturdy than it has been.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Great Adjusting Property
It's got 2 points of pivot making this one of the better adjusting unit. The clamp looks secure so far. If you ride a 29er dual suspension in a small frame, you have more limit choices of mud flaps as adjustments are necessary to have enough clearance. The flap is a rubber material. It's very soft.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous good but not really up to the job of hard xc riding
Bought this for my Specialized Carve Pro 29er. Does the job ok for road riding and light xc but not really up to hard xc/trail riding. It flaps about, tapping the tyre quite a lot (even though I have it set so that the tip is about 200mm away from the tyre). Basically the blade is reasonably thick and heavy which gives it quite a lot of inertia, particularly when its covered in mud. As well as the tyre tapping problem, I've often finished a section of singletrack to find the guard pointing off at a 20 degree angle - i.e. seat clamp not doing its job. The bike has a 27.2mm seatpost so I guess it's worst case scenario. On larger diameter seatposts, the performance of the clamp should be better.

1) Looks great in my opinion. Not the most important quality for a mudguard to have, but still a plus as far as I'm concerned.
2) Catches spray because it's long enough and shaped like a paddle, which is more than can be said of some mudguards I've been offered.
3) Easy to install. The mount allows for small as well as wide seat posts and you can adjust the angle of the guard with basic tools.
4) Secured by a proper screw mechanism; in the past I've seen mudguards that are locked by what amounts to little more than a glorified zip tie, and the XC11 certainly feels more durable and will probably be easier to repair if necessary.
Seems like a winner to me. One happy owner, signing out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Awesome rear mudguard for a 29er.
Quick release, adjustable angle and length of this mudguard make it a good choice for a 29er. I wish there were XC1 version for 29" wheel.
