Rated 4 out of 5 by Carrying extra water when bikepacking I've mounted these units on my front forks with jubilee clips to carry an extra 3 lts of water. There is nothing else on the market like these racks. The down side is the flexibility in the upper section which eventually cracks the rack at the join. Having broken one of these racks this way I now have a piece of rubber with a zip tie at the top to stop it flexing. Set up like this I can take the bike offroad and not have to worry about the rack breaking or losing a water bottle. The rubber strap at the top is not long lasting. I replaced this with a zip tie loop. 12 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by 19 April 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by
Rated 3 out of 5 by 07 August 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Funciona bien excepto sujeción... Saludos 10 May 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok Typical of Topeak, they have a great idea followed by mediocre come thru. The elastic is flimsy and didn't last. We have 2 Thorn Ravens and on the smaller frame didn't fit. I had to cut and shorten it to fit the inside of the bike. 09 October 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by May not work for you! I just purchased this cage for use on my trek 520, it does not fit the (vertical) seat tube which was my intent of use because of the height of the welded mounting bracket on the cage. It will fit the (sloping) down tube but unable to have a 2nd cage on the seat tube. If Topeak made the mount to be adjustable or lower to the bottom of the cage, it would have solved any mounting issues for me. If you have a single water cage mount on a down tube only and you want to carry a larger quantity of water, this will work for you, be sure to note the position of the mounting bracket on the cage in comparision to a regular cage mount and make a fair estimate of the room needed for your application before you purchase. I'm able to use this on my mountain bike so I can't really complain. As noted in another review the rubber strap looks like it won't last long and a velcro strap or ball loop bungie cord will suffice. 19 May 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Держатель отличный. 30 November 2011

Carbon Frame Stress

Will the bottle cage mounting points on a carbon road frame be able to cope with 1.5 litres (1.5kg) of weight? Could this weight crack the frame at the two cage load points?

Answers

Answer:
This is unlikely to cause any problems as long as the bottle cage bolts are torqued up to the correct level.

Your frame manufacturer would ultimately be able to advise accurately if this weight would be safe with the bottle cage mount.
