Answer:
The 380mm and 420mm are in relation to the overall length of the seatpost; it is advised to compare this to the length of your current seatpost for an accurate selection.

Answer:
The Thomson Elite seatpost is only available in a 30.9mm or 31.6mm diameter, both of which will be too large for your 30mm seat tube. You could opt for a 27.2mm dropper seatpost and use a shim to connect it to your 30mm seat tube.

Answer:
Not being a Santa Cruz dealer I can't be sure, but I believe the Blur LT frame runs a 30.9mm seatpost with a 100mm insertion.

To work out what length will best suit you;

• set your standard seatpost at the highest point that you use it
• measure the exposed length of the seatpost and add 120mm

For example;
If the exposed part of your seatpost is 240mm + 120mm = 360mm

You could use the 355mm length of RockShox Reverb however, to ensure that there is enough seatpost in the frame, the 380mm length would be a better choice.

As for left or right hand, this is entirely down to rider preference and where you want the actuation lever to be located.

Answer:
As the seat post is clamped into the seat tube, it's almost impossible to avoid clamping marks. Being careful when raising/ lowering the post is the most effective way to avoid scratch marks, but some riders use a smaller seatpost than they require and fit a plastic shim to the seattube to try and help avoid damage. Carbon posts are always an option, and some carbon assembly gel/ paste will help to protect the surface from excessive clamping forces.

Answer:
If there is enough room in the frame seat tube for an additional 5mm of seatpost insertion then the 350mm seat post will be a viable option. It would be advised to measure the seat tube on the frame before committing to a seat post size.

In regards to the seatpost clamp size; a 31.8mm Clamp is required.

Not being a Boardman dealer I have no way of double checking the seatpost size on the SLS 9.8 for you, but I would imagine it will be a 27.2mm; you should contact your local Boardman dealer as they will be able to confirm for you.

I love the idea of getting a Dropper Seat post for my Lapierre 720 DH bike, but not sure one is available for my bike's requirements...

My current post dimensions are: 31.6x250, which is a very short post.

Can you give me any advice on this?

Answer:
The Da Bomb (350mm Total Length) post mentioned has a recommended insert of 170mm which fits the whole way to the collar which is perfect for your bike.

The Rock Shox Reverb is also another option to consider (355mm Total length has an insert of 190mm).
