Truvativ AKA All Mountain Stem 1

If an XC-only stem is too wimpy but a super-beefy DH stem is overkill for your trail riding adventures, the AKA might be just the right fit.

Crafted with super-stiff forged 7050 aluminum in a minimalist design, the AKA does double duty as an XC or all-mountain stem. It’s lighter than many XC stems on the market, but throw some wide bars on it and point it down your sketchiest trail and you’ll see where the AKA really shines.

  • Weight: 170g (110mm)
  • Material: 3D Forged AL-7050, Clamp: AL-66
  • Bolts: CrMo
  • Recommended Group: Trail, All Mountain

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Strong, creak free, looks good Got this to reduce the length slightly from my stock stem. Price is superb for what you get as the stem looks good, hasn't creaked, offers a choice in drop via a flippable rise and gives a confident sturdy level of control. Can't fault it really unless you are a real weight weeny - with my diet I could not claim that one ever! 01 September 2014
24 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo Perfetto per l'all mountain, grazie all'ottimo rapporto resistenza/peso 30 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by looks good and does what it is supposed too overall it looks good on my bike, got it as a replacement for my crank brothers stem which had been broken.and overall just a good stem and good value for money 23 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ottimo prodotto Questo stem è ben fatto, leggero e resistente. La mia scelta è ricaduta su un 60mm, in modo da avere il baricentro arretrato e garantire una buona stabilità nelle discese. Arrivato in 5 giorni. 01 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic value stem and burly enough for all but full on downhill duties Bought this recently to replace the slightly longer Race Face Ride stem I had previously been running on my SB66, I'm fairly tall at 6'4" so was always dubious about going to the ever popular 50mm length as knees to the bars are never fun, Have always been tempted with the Renthal Duo, Easton Haven or the Thomson Elite X4 but at the best part of £70 for any of them, went with the less expensive aka stem (even at the RRP of £50, I would say its good value for what you get) to try out with the view of trading up to one of the above (albeit at slightly different lengths). There's some really nice finishing touches on the stem, the bolts seem to be of good quality compared to some others I've had in the past and the finish is nice. I really like the open style of the face plate that makes it really easy to centre your bars, not a selling point in its own right, but its a nice touch, something you would expect off of anything from a SRAM product. After I've had the aka on the bike and ridden a variety of steep natural stuff as well as the obligatory trail center blasts, it's not even let out a creak and there's certainly no noticeable flex. Its maybe not quite as bling as some of the above options or looks as burly, but the finish is really nice and Ive felt very confident on it hitting drops, rocks and jumps, I'm going to be sticking with it. 09 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Solid, short and looks great. So good i bought 2! Quality and finish are great. Nice and burly looking without looking like im trying to be a downhill racer! 26 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value basic stem. This is a little heavier than my previous stem (Pilo 50mm) but lighter than most others of similar size and usage such as my Easton Havoc 60mm. Build quality is good as is overall finish. No noticable flex even with 800mm wide bars on freeride rig (Scott Voltage FR). Overall this stem is fit and forget, literally, just does as it is supposed too without any bling. Id recommend if 20% or more discount is offered over RRP every time. 06 January 2014
