Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Doesnt fit Got it, it should fit my frame but doesn't. And apparently I can't leave a short review so here's some more text. 08 February 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't bother Brought these cranks as I needed to replace my inner chain ring on my cross bike and they were a bargin. Wish I hadn't wasted my time fitting them chain kept coming off when in high gears on outer chain ring. No amount of fine tuning could solve this now using my old outer ring that im glad I saved and so far so good. Shame about the masive scratches on the drive side crank arm. 28 January 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This product will break! One week old and it is in the Bin. Do not even contemplate buying this product. After 1 week of riding the outer chainring failed. I am very surprised that CRC are still selling this product and I would strongly recommend that it is removed from sale. There is a reason that it is this price and it is not worth that. CRC were generally good with refunding the product. My advice is buy a more expensive one and save yourself the hassle of replacing it next month. 21 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 Good value for money Attractive crankset, reasonably lightweight and extremely keen price (£28.71 including the BB). Useful 48/34 ratios too. Attempted to fit this chainset to a bike with quite wide tyre clearance but the BB was far too narrow - strictly for skinny road bikes only! Still worth keeping hold of as I can use the rings and sell the rest. 17 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality Very smooth, easy to install, yes you are losing the 50+ big ring but as it's cheap enough to drop a new cassette on the rear and drop a cog size or two. Have really enjoyed riding out on this. 16 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by good good look.light weight.very useful extractor(system of two nuts).will try it on the road later 30 December 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Great bargain but be careful. the chainrings are fragile It is a bargain: I bought it when it was 70 percent off for 32 euros: a gxp bottom bracket, the crankset and the chainrings. And the whole thing is light. I noticed the difference right away when I replaced my shimano 2400 crankset with it. But here is the payback: the chainrings seem to me very fragile. I have only ridden 200km with it. During the end of my ride, I took a corner and really push hard the pedals to regain my speed. I was on the big chainring and the 3rd smallest cog on the rear casette . The chainring failed: it got torn apart. I have never seen this. I have been biking for 15 years. And it is also the first I have a non shimano crankset. I examined the chainring. It turns out that it is made of thin and hollow aluminium and seems very flexy. If I push the chainring towards the crankarm with my fingers, I notice some significant amount of flex. All the bolts and the arms are screwed with proper torks. I can't recommend this product. I am going to send the stuff back to CRC to see what they can do about it. My other concern now is if the crank arm and spindle are going to fail too if it ever gets fixed. My advice is to go for thicker chainrings and more robust (a few more grams will make a huge impact I think). It makes sense now for me why Shimano cranksets and chainrings are not the lightest on the market. 24 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Includes Bottom Bracket - yes Bought this based on the other reviewers indicating the bottom bracket is included even though not mentioned in the product description. The 34 tooth inner crank is steel - which is a good thing as it will wear much longer than aluminum. 20 November 2013

Answer:
Hi there.

You must use a GXP compatible bottom bracket with the Truvativ Elita 2.1 Chainset. Below are links to the GXP bottom brackets that I would recommend.

SRAM GXP Team BB Cups - (Stock ID sku199312)

SRAM GXP BB Cups - Ceramic (Stock ID sku87124)

Answer:
The Truvativ Elita 2.1 Compact 9 Speed Double Chainset is supplied with a 68mm external GXP bottom bracket so there is no need to order one separately. The weight of the chainset based on the 172.5mm crank length is 820g without the bottom bracket. With the BB the total weight is 939g.

Is the bottom bracket included

Hi. A reviewer has stated that the bottom bracket GXP is included. I wish to buy this in 175mm option. In the detailed options menu, it showed 175mm and had a blank space for options whereas the 172.5mm had ' no cups ' as the option.

Is the bottom bracket included with 175mm. And if not, how come one reviewer has recieved his cranks with the bottom bracket included. Cheers.

Bottom bracket included?

One week ago there was a box to say if the bb is included or not. Now there isn't any box. It is still right that only the 172.5 version does not come with a bb?

Answer:
Due to the nature of how the bearing pre-load differs between Shimano Hollowtech and SRAM GXP; the two systems are not cross compatible.

Only a GXP bottom bracket can be used with this crankset.

Answer:
8 and 9 speed chains are the same size so you should be fine to use either chain on your 8 speed cassette. This crankset runs a Truvativ GXP system, which threads into a standard English Threaded frame (68/73mm shell width, 34mm internal diameter with left hand drive threads on the drive side, and right-hand drive threads on the non-drive side).
