The USE Alien seat post maintains its position of market leader in the lightweight performance sector. The Alien has continually evolved with the latest being the Alien Cyclops. Using a larger (3mm hex key) single bolt central to the clamp design, the Alien Cyclops makes adjustment easier and faster. The new Cyclops design is stronger than ever and is even 5g lighter. The Alien Cyclops has a unique one-key release mechanism that makes re-adjustment as simple as a turn of the hex key.
The Alien Carbon seat post is used by World-class athletes through to amateurs, 2 X Tour de France King of the Mountains, Multiple MTB World Cup victories.

Использовал этот подседельный штырь один сезон-никаких проблем.Лёгкий,прочный,выглядит потрясающе.Настраивается немного дольше стандартных.При закручивании болта необходим динамометрический ключ-слишком всё миниатюрное.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Light and easy to adjust
This is a top quality seatpost. The new model has been redesigned so that there is now only one tightening bolt for the seat rails instead of two (which they had on the previous model), so it is now easy to adjust the seat position/angle.

I've had the predecessor to this seatpost since 1993 - ultra-light, and never missed a beat. I lost a part & USE managed to replace it over 14 years later. Outstanding service & products, so now whenever I need a component, if USE make it I automatically strongly consider theirs.

Tige de selle très light.
Dommage qu'elle nécessite une attention toute particulière si on souhaite éviter tout grippage.

Bought this about a year ago and have had a number of small problems with it. Got a new saddle at the same time with slightly larger than normal rails. Wouldnt fit in the clamp so had to get USE's clamp for large rails- Still didnt fit. Many hours with a file later i got the saddle on but it's too tight to adjust the position or angle much without fear of breaking the already seriously bent bolt.
Also the post is really more like 27.0 not the 27.2 written on it. THis means no matter how tight the clamp is (i've tried three different ones) it continues to slip down. and that's on a racer without ever going off road.
Also jammed in a bit of a shim to try solve the problem and it just ate into the carbon.

Used this post since early 2005 and still going strong - No problems whatsoever. Fitted to a short travel bike and used mainly in the Lakes i.e. it hasn't had an easy life.
Basically just make sure you use a quality allen key when bolting it together!
