Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ninja bike... Was umming and arring over choosing a replacement for my beloved Subrosa BMX (it was finally time to get a 'grown-up bike' as my wife put it :-)....) I wanted a single gear, no fuss, no-nonsense street bike....oh yeah, and it had to be black... After a bit of online research I stumbled across the Vitus range, and for me they ticked all the boxes. Initially I was after the Vitus Dee 29 (19"), but unfortunately when it came to having the funds to buy, it was no longer available.... HOWEVER, I am sooo pleased I opted for the 26er instead - I absolutely LOVE this bike! It is just as much (if not more) fun to ride than my Subrosa. Call me shallow if you like, but I am a sucker for looks, and the Dee has them - matte black, simple lines and a non-fussy design - plus a sweet looking graffiti style robot design. I use the bike for a short commute to work, and so far I have loved every minute of the journeys I've taken. My only advice though would be to change the pedals, the ones provided are a bit cheap looking/feeling, and were too small for my size 10 plates. (I soon replaced them with a pair of Nukeproof Electrons which were also bought from Chain Reaction - excellent pedals). I've added a Sportourer Easy Gel seat cover as well, just for comfort, you know, coz I'm getting old... I'm also thinking of replacing the handlebars and grips, but this is just a personal choice - I prefer a wider bar and softer grips. My only gripe is that there was a scratch on the top tube that was revealed when I unpacked the bike and took off the protective wrapping - naughty Chain Reaction! Apart from that, I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I highly recommend this bike. Go buy it!! 22 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by So happy with this bike! I'm 44 years old and this bike is like being back on a bmx when I was a teenager. I love the simplicity of no suspension and no gears. I have other high end mountain bikes with all the latest stuff, but this bike is just great to get on, ride and have fun. I ride with my kids around the park and to the shops and do it with a smile on my face. The gearing is on the high side and small hills are no problems, but I would not be keen to go up anything major, or attempting undulating single tracks without a cog swap. Definitely can't complain at this price point what you get for the money, but I did upgrade brakes and pedals which was mentioned in other reviews of the Dee-1 and Dee-29. I put a set of 160mm Avid BB7 brakes on to replace the Promax brakes and it was a quantum leap in braking performance and a very easy upgrade to install. I also put on a set of Nukeproof flat pedals which gave me a far wider platform for my size 10 shoes. Overall you cannot go wrong with this bike if you're after just a fun bike which is built strong and priced so well! 09 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value for the money and a fun bike to ride Looks good, feels solid, rides smooth and the price is right. How come there´s not more bikes like this? It really is a fun bike to ride. I´m feeling like a kid with a BMX and I´m pushing forty. Sometimes I put a child seat on the back and give my 2 year old a ride. The gear ratio is on the light side so uphills are no problem even with the extra weight. The kit pedals a not good, of course. I put on some Nuke Proof composite flats and they seem to do the job. Only thing I think is bit funny is the sizing: The 19" is just right for me and I´m 179 cm / 5' 10. Who rides the 16 incher, kids? Just saying that if you are 190 cm / 6' 30 this is too small for you, still being the largest option. Anyway, if this bike got stolen I would be very mad & sad and definitely order a new one. 27 August 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bargain This is not an expensive bicycle, but... I must say I got a bit surprised when the bike arrived. I was assuming that the bike would come semi-assembled, with the wheels and seat post removed etc. Instead, the bike came fully assembled in a gigantic box, and all I had to do was turn he handlebars and fit the pedals. It looks on the pictures like pedals are not included, but they are. The package also contained a pedal spanner, 6 allen keys, a nice multitool, a water bottle, touch-up paint and anti scuff stickers! I have purchased more expensive bicycles (elsewhere) that didn't come with any of those extras.... The bike itself is pretty staightforward as expected. It's a bit heavy, which doesn't come as a surprise if one has read the specifications. The saddle is narrow, which is a bit unusual for a city bike, but I can't use any other type of saddle. The handlebars are the widest I have ever had on a bike, and I think I will cut them an inch in each end. I have mounted fenders on my bike, since I will be using it every day to and from work. The rear drop outs do not have holes for fender or rack, which is a bit strange since the seat stays have threaded holes (for a fender?) I drilled and threaded holes in he drop outs and the (black) fenders actually look good on the bike. I had to make some special arrangements around the brakes, which is normal when you have disc brakes. Speaking of brakes, these mechanical disc brakes are (hopefully) good enough for city commuting in low seed, but they are very inferior compared to the hydraulic disc brakes on my mountain bikes. I might replace them eventually, but I will give them a try first, during the Swedish Winter... I might sound a bit negative, but the Dee-1 is still a bargain and I like it a lot. 04 July 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great bike! A nice looking and really good bike - really, everyone should have a one like this! Pros: - a "ninja" black look - pretty stiff frame - good acceleration - sturdy, can take a beating - dirt cheap! Cons: - mechanical disc brakes can't compare to hydrobrakes, but works if you are not craving for performance, it took me some time to adjust the brakes - depending on your fitness level and the terrain you ride, you might want to consider a harder drivetrain (more resistance) My only complain is the brakes, going to change them for something better. I also changed the tires to a pair of slicks, because I am using the bike in the city. But the supplied tires are good all-around tires. Just buy it already, ninjawarrior!! 04 June 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic fun commuter I bought this bike as it was the only single speed mountain bike I could find at this price and I'm really glad I did. Firstly, the bike looks amazing. I love the clean simple look with matte black paint and no ugly dérailleurs. I really like the yellow space invaders too. The whole bike is really lightweight and robust, the gear ratio is high enough to get some decent speed up but just low enough to get over small hills. The brakes aren't the best disk brakes in the world, but they do stop the bike reliably so they're more than adequate for town riding. I use it mainly for commuting/town riding, but it's pretty good off-road too and the 26x1.95 tyres make for a very comfortable ride. If you're looking for a no-nonsense, low maintenance and great fun bike, then buy this bike. 10 April 2013

For someone of your height I would certainly recommend a 26" wheeled bike.

The frame size I would recommend would be a 16".

Siamo spiacenti ma non é possibile montare una ruota da 28" su un telaio predisposto per una ruota da 26". In allegato puoi trovare una bici molto simile nella versione con ruote da 29"

The Vitus Dee is not equipped with full mudguard/ pannier mounts so your best option is to use the more recent style of guards such as those below.
