Vitus Bikes Energie VR Carbon Bike

New for 2013 Vitus introduce the Energie Cyclo-cross range!

Cyclo-cross was once the sole preserve of hardened racers who wanted to maintain the competitive edge throughout the winter months but in recent years the sport has exploded into the mainstream with races cropping up every weekend throughout Europe and the UK alike!

To meet this growing trend we have added the Energie VR cyclo-cross bike to our lineup!

The Energie VR is our high end full carbon cyclo-cross race bike and has been designed specifically to meet the demands of all out cyclo-cross assaults! This high performance race oriented steed will be equally at home on longer winter training rides or anywhere in between. The increased strength and tyre clearance also makes this a phenomenal bike for back country roads and forest parks alike, when you take in to consideration that numerous Pro Tour teams use cyclo-cross bikes during the early season classics races you can really appreciate the potential and diversity that this bike can offer!

High-Modulus Torayca® T700 HM-UD-3K Carbon Frame & Fork

Our cyclo-cross specific frameset features a High-Modulus Torayca® T700 HM-UD-3K Carbon construction for superior strength to weight with increased tyre and mud clearance for high volume cyclo-cross tyres. Cable routing has been specifically designed to prevent ingress of mud and water and to increase comfort when shouldering the bike during cyclo-cross race situations. A High-Modulus Torayca® T700 HM-UD-3K Carbon fork features beefed up fork blades to ensure precise tracking and steering with the ability to handle the rigours of competitive cyclo-cross racing.

SRAM Force Groupset

SRAM Force shifters and derailleurs are renowned for positive and precise gear selections time after time. SRAM’s 1.1 actuation ratio reduces the chance of sloppy gear changes in adverse and muddy conditions.

The drivetrain features a cyclo-cross friendly gear ratio with the compact Force 46t x 36t chainset and the 11t-26t cassette offering enough selection to get you through the muddiest races or over the steepest ascents on weekend training rides.

Avid Shorty 6 cantilever brakes provide excellent stopping power and modulation with additional mud clearance to cope with any situation on or off the race course.

Finishing Kit

FSA alloy bars, stem and seatpost offer a strong but lightweight components package that will handle the demands of cyclo-cross racing. Easton EA50 Aero wheels with bladed spokes offer strength and stability with a proven track record for reliability. The Schwalbe CX Pro high volume tyres feature an aggressive tread pattern that is suited to wet and muddy conditions which will be perfect for UK and European race conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4 out of 5 avid brakes not acceptable, frame, sram force and design nice and good good bike, but only after mounting new TRP CX 8.4 brakes which fit perfectly. the original avid shorty 6 broke on the first ride...and they do not slow the bike down goood enough...now with the new brakes, it is pefect, can only recommend to change standard brakes for this bike 21 September 2013

Answer:
For your height you would require a 50-52cm horizontal (effective) top tube length.

Unfortunately this size would feature on the 50cm bike which is out of stock at this time.
