Vitus Bikes Gravir 1 Suspension Bike

For XC race days and weekend trail sessions; for enduro epics and marathon racing; for all of the above and so much more; the Vitus Gravir is no one trick pony; saddle up and do it all!

Renamed and revamped for 2013 is our Gravir range of XC/Trail full suspension bikes, built around our custom hydroformed 6061 aluminium frame with 100mm of rear wheel travel delivered via our Vitus V-Link four-bar suspension system; up front we've added a 120mm travel fork for a balanced yet lively suspension package.

Designed and developed by Vitus Bikes in association with Chainreactioncycles.com, the Gravir is a true all-rounder that enjoys lung-busting climbs and tricky technical XC as much as it does flat-out descents across the open mountainside, making it the perfect FS choice for marathon and XC events, trail-centre tomfoolery or all-day adventure.

100mm travel V-Link frame and RockShox Reba RL forks
Our lightweight hydroformed multi-butted, heat treated 6061 aluminium frame features 100mm of rear wheel travel via a Four-Bar V-Link activated suspension platform which eliminates pedal bob yet remains fully active at all times. Suspension travel is controlled by a RockShox Monarch RT3 air shock offering infinite adjustability and silky smooth performance. All pivots run on sealed cartridge bearings providing supple performance with low maintenance. A replaceable derailleur hanger comes as standard.

RockShox Reba RL Solo Air forks offer 120mm of trail-taming air-sprung travel. A tapered steerer and 15mm Maxle Lite thru-axle means precise, positive tracking through rock gardens and rough sections of trail.

SRAM groupset
The Gravir I features a 20spd SRAM X9 groupset with a SRAM S1400 2x10 chainset delivering slick and precise gear changes in all conditions and a gear ratio that will make short work of any gradient the trail can throw at you.

Avid Elixir 3 hydraulic disc brakes with a 180mm rotor up front and 160mm rotor at the back provide powerful, controllable stopping power ensuring you stay in control at all times.

Easton wheelset and finishing kit
A lightweight Easton EA70 XC wheelset reduces rotational weight for faster acceleration and improved climbing prowess. Large-volume Maxxis High Roller tyres offer dependable grip in all conditions inspiring you to push hard into every corner. A great value components package is rounded out with a mixture of Easton EA50 and Vitus finishing kit for comfort, control and reliability.

Vitus Gravir I. Crest the ascent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by very nice bike especially for the price you pay for it. Just drove the bike for two times now and i am very pleased with it. the quality is very good but you have to know that you need to setup everything properly like suspension etc, the rear derieur directly needed some fine tuning but that should not be a problem. 22 July 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by 18 March 2014

Answer:

What size?

I'm 5'10 with a 31" inside leg - I've only ever really ridden road bikes and used 54cm frames. What would be a better fit out of the 16.5 and 18"?

Answer:
The 18" would likely offer the most ideal fit; some riders prefer a slight smaller bike for increased control; but based on Road Bike sizing, the slightly larger frame would be ideal.
