Rated 5 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Its a beast!! !! This is real Mountain bike, not a cheap knock off The bike was delivered fully assembled, wheels on and pumped, just had to turn handle bars and screw on pedals with the spanner provided and it was mobile within 2 minutes. CRC also threw in a drinks bottle, a very neat bike tool, and set of Allen keys. And, a big surprise, they also included a spare rear dérailleur hanger as they are easily snapped by rock strikes when out on the trails. This will save you a walk home and about €30+! Size wise, I have just bought for my 10 year old and should get him to his early teens. My 8 year old can just about ride it, but position is to stretched out to bring on any trails, so it's age 9+ in mine opinion. The gear change is very smooth and much higher end compared to other kids bike. There is a giant 34 tooth gear out back for the really steep trail climbs, again not standard on most other bikes. The brake levers are reach adjustable, and it took just a few turns with an Allen key to bring the levers much closer to the handle bar. With the shorter reach it puts less pressure/strain on my sons wrists who had been complaining of stiff heavy braking on down hill forest trails on his previous bike. Even saddle is very high quality cushion/cover and seat post included quick release, great for quick height adjustments on steeper trails. Vitus have really put a lot of thought into the specification, you really are getting a proper off road mountain bike, just scaled down in size and price. It's a bargain, and simply not comparable to anything on the high street. My sons friends said " IT'S A BEAST" which is cool apparently! 21 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great kids bike Bought this bike for my 6 year old daughter - it is perfect :-) 11 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super bike Bought for 10yr old boy. Great spec for the price, with Altura rear derailleur, FSA headset etc. About £50 cheaper than big name alternatives with less impressive spec. Nice light frame, my son flicks it around easily and my wife doesnt complain when she lifts it on to the car bike carrier after school. Would recommend. 17 June 2013

About mudguards.

Hi!

What are the best fitting / recommended mudguards for this bike?
Thinking to buy this for my daughter for riding to school and sometimes some offroad.

Thank you,
-Niko

P.S. I am very happy with my Vee-29, great all-rounder!

Answer:
The SKS Rowdy would be a good option for the Maxium bike; I've linked them below for your reference.
