Vitus Bikes Razor VR Road Bike 2014

Your first introduction to the joys of road cycling; a solid performer which combines light weight, durability and affordability; the new Razor platform will offer unrestricted enjoyment and a comfortable ride. Equally at home on long winter training rides or daily commutes to the office; the Razor combines sharp looks with sharp handling; cast off the shackles and embrace cycling in all of its forms!

Lightweight 6061-T6 Alloy Frame With T700 HM-UD Carbon Fork With Alloy Steerer

The lightweight 6061-T6 alloy frame  has been designed with all year riding and commuting in mind. Up front Vitus have added a T700 HM-UD carbon bladed fork with alloy steerer to reduce road buzz from rough sections of road for increased rider comfort. Also they've added ample clearance for mud guards and added eyelets for ease of fitment on both frame and fork. Additionally included are pannier rack mounts to broaden the bikes capabilities as an all rounder for commuting and social riding. The Vitus comfort geometry offers a more relaxed riding position which translates into increased comfort and reduced rider fatigue, a feature that we have come to appreciate ourselves when making early morning commutes when carrying a bag on our back.

Shimano Sora/Claris Drivetrain

Shimano Sora shifters and derailleurs deliver crisp gear selections each and every time ensuring you never miss a gear. The driving force at the heart of the drivetrain is a Shimano Claris compact chainset with 50t x 34t rings; this is paired up with an 11t-28t cassette to offer a wider range of gears. Tektro R315 dual pivot long reach brakes offer dependable braking performance.

Vitus Wheelset & Finishing Kit

The Vitus wheelset features semi-aero rims which are laced onto lightweight alloy hubs. The rims have a 30mm V profile for improved aerodynamics and reduced drag whilst a CNC machined braking surface ensures consistent braking performance. High volume Kenda 25c tyres offer added comfort and a larger contact patch for improved grip. Vitus finishing kit completes the components package. The alloy bars, stem and seatpost provide a lightweight and dependable components package which have been colour coded to match the frame decals.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by reliable 20 years I do mountain bike trips and city bike. Now decided to deal with road bike. Ι checked the market for a quality and affordable bike and came to the razor. The bike came I did my first route and saw that it is much of the very best that the wait. (needs only little attention Joined Further Regulating before shipment to customers) 22 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant bike for the money I'm only a newbie, so you can take my comments with a small pinch of salt. But this is a lot of bike for the money. I wanted a road bike and spent a while doing some research into what I could get for my money. The Razor VR came out top of my list, and I'm very pleased with it so far. Sora gears and a carbon fork are great for this price point (I paid 419.99). The bike came extremely well packaged, with a goody bag containing a multitool, pedal wrench, energy food, reflectors, touch-up paint, a bell and various other bits and pieces, even the instructions for the gearset. The gears seem perfect out of the box, I didn't need to adjust anything. I didn't get any pedals with it but that was fine with me because I'd already bought some metal pedals to attach to it. I'm over the moon with the bike so far. I'm only doing small rides at the moment because I'm building up gradually, but it's nice to ride and I can't fault anything. 21 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value bike I previously had a hybrid bike and i wanted a cheapish roadbike, looked at many dearer bikes and the spec did not match this. I bought this bike in store and i got good metal pedals for free. The bike rides great, shifts perfectly and is great for uphill 06 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid bike for the money Arrived after three working days well packaged however I got no pedals with this bike ( I got plastic ones with my previous bike) so I had to harvest some old ones off my hybrid. My first impressions is that it was a great buy, gear shifts are smooth, no squeaks or scrapes to be heard. Coming from a hybrid it is so much lighter and the gearing allows me to travel at a much faster pace especially uphill which cork has plenty of. 21 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Basic road bike - great value. I had recommended this bike to others even before the latest reduction in price. Everything is fairly basic but basically o.k. If you're at all competitive, you'll only want this as a winter/bad weather trainer or commuter but, for everything non-competitive on the road,, it's absolutely fine. I have fitted SKS mudguards, a Carradice Bagman support (and, because of my age and condition, a granny sprocket with a long cage mech and an angled stem) and I've found over the past few months that it's been great for everything, including rides with steep climbs #albeit at my customary slow pace!). 04 July 2014

Answer:
These bikes have been designed around 25mm tires, but have enough clearance to run a 28mm tire without any issue. You may be able to fit a spiked 30mm winter tire such as the Schwalbe below.
