Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple, tough, and great value bought this after reading a number of great reviews about the bike. It is exactly what I wanted, something reliable, tough, and of good quality. I wanted a singlespeed for fitness training purposes, admittedly the gear is slightly too long for trail use if I'm honest, but this just makes the challenge more interesting when gritting your teeth to get up those hills!! I have yet to push up one!! The bike rolls extremely fast on road and gravel trails and takes small bumps etc well for a rigid bike. All the components are of good quality minus the pedals so go and grab yourself a bargain!! It's a rugged no nonsense and fun bike that will put a smile on your face when you blast past the people with all the gear and no Idea!! 23 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great bike for the money! Great bike for the money. Very light and fast rolling due to big wheels and low resistance tires. Chain, freewheel (Dicta), chainwheel, BB and pedals (plastic) are low spec as is to be expected with this price tag, but major components are good. Geared a bit low for commuting, but a different chainwheel or freewheel can easily sort that out. My only grumble is the lack of pannier rack mounts on the rear dropouts. Hoping to find an axle mount pannier - otherwise it's p-clips. I am also using SKS velo 55 mudguards which are a snug fit. Would recommend as an easy to maintain bike for getting around town, or as a basis for building your perfect commuter! Was supplied with a faulty freewheel, but CRC were quick to sort it out. Great service! 01 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by VITUS V 29ER I bought the Vitus V 29er a couple of weeks ago, I am an old school rider that wanted to try a 29" wheeled bike but hate shocks and loves rigid frames. I got the surprise of my life. This bike is super light compared to the bikes I have ridden in the past. The frame is strong but responsive. The bike handles effortlessly and turns sharp corners without losing control. The cog set up is excellent for me. I have not yet been up a hill that I can't handle. With that said, I have strong legs.. I have never been a great bike jumper in the past but I find myself hitting jumps wherever possible, and the bike handles on tracks and trails superbly well. I used to hit the brakes on my old bike for fear of falling off, but the control on the Vitus vee seams really good. I feel safe on this bike and love the simplicity of it. I am 43 years old but this bike has transformed me back to my youth. I don't ride to work any more. I bezz about having a laugh. Its the most fun bike I have ridden in years. The only down side is an annoying tick sound that comes from the rear single speed crank but chain reaction have come up with a solution to getting it sorted. With that said it does appear to be going of its own accord so I am going to see how I get on. If you are thinking about buying this bike. Think no more. The Vitus vee 29er gets a massive thumbs up from me. I am going to bling it up next, I already added BMX jump peddles. I am gonna see if I can get my old mates out and relive old times. 30 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by GR8 BIKE AND SERVICE ORDERED THIS BIKE FRIDAY LUNCH TIME AND IT WAS DELIVERED MONDAY LUNCHTIME,WELL PACKAGED IN A HUGE BOX,WITH LOADS OF GR8 FREEBIES,THE BIKE IS FANTASTIC AND IM THINKING OF BUYING A SECOND ONE AND PUTTING SLICK TYRES ON,AS USUAL CRC ARE GR8 TO DEAL WITH.WELL PLEASED 12 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Vitus voluptuous I've been riding single speed for years. Constant tinkering with gears on my 22 mile commute just got too much on a geared bike over 6 years. I've had top spec singles and fixies but always been restricted with where I can ride them. Until I read this months Urban Cyclist and saw the Vee! Two days later I'm building one on my drive (fitting pedals and flipping the bars, CRC did the rest!) First ride was a hoot. I strapped the tagalong for my son to the back the and we hit the trials. Really light. Good ratio setup for moderate hills. Tyres grip that shinola to a blanket on wet trails, quick rollers too (80 psi I'm currently running). I'd love to say that it's da bomb but I'm nearly 40, but it's da bomb. I've already got one or my singles up for sale so I can buy a 2nd set of wheels for longer and faster commutes. 24 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great fun, good price There is no doubt this bike provides a lot of fun for the money. Purchased with a further 10% off at £263. I'm not sure you can class it as a city bike as its a bit slow on the road with the wide knobbly tyres but take it off road and it's a hoot. Gearing is fine but you will have to get out of the saddle on big hills but that's the point of a single speed. I spent a week on forest trials in Aberdeenshire and it handled it fine. Unfortunately it was damaged on arrival, only cosmetic but CRC customer service dealt with it efficiently. Overall a good purchase. Perhaps should have upgraded and bought the model with disk brakes for more off road stopping power. 13 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Simple. Solid. Stylish I am owner of this bike for about a year now. I am using it on a daily base to commute. It's a 6km commute right through downtown Zurich. Except for one single flat tire I never had any issues with it. The parts are not the most expensive ones. But they are okay. Changing the back wheel for fixing the tire is a bit unusual because the chain does not have a derailleur. After a while I figured it out. I like the simple and bold appearance of this bike. You can't get a better price/performance ratio. 26 March 2014

Traditional pannier racks are no compatible as the frame does not have eyelets to mount them; however a seatpost mounted pannier is an option.

Answer:
This bike has no pannier mounts / braze-ons / threaded bosses on the rear dropouts. The 26 inch version does have them somehow. I think there are axle-mounted panniers for sale, otherwise you could use p-clips if the load is not too heavy.

Answer:
I have not idea, because frankly; the bike has handled everything i have thrown at it. The two real bags can take a lot of weight, the only extra thing i have had to buy was two elastic ropes that i have used on so many occasions to fasten up to 24 littles of water at the rear rack, and thats minus the weights in the two extra side bags.

Answer:
This bike does not have the eyelets for traditional mudguards. You would have to fit the likes of SKS Beavertail Mudguard Set or SKS Raceblade Mudguards. You will need to select the wider version as the 29inch tyre you have is a wider version.

The Vitus Vee runs a standard threaded hub for a singlespeed driver such as the Shimano Freewheel linked below. To remove/install this freewheel you can use any standard 4-pin BMX tool, such as the Park Tool FR6 linked below (sku51605)
