Rated 1 out of 5 by Hemel The extractor worked fine when new but has now broken when just 2 year old
One of the lugs which support the chain has broken away.
Also, the chrome insert which supports the pin which pushes out the rivet has come away from the body of the tool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Orintex broke first time
The chain tool itself is fine, but the pin that forces the rivet out bent the first time I used it. I know these can be replaced (if you pay), and I know it happened because I kept pushing after the chain slipped out of line, but I expected it to survive a bit of abuse the first time I used it.

For the price, you couldn't ask for more.
It works, it extract and it is still working after 1 year.
The pin bends easily.

Lots of reviews here state that the chain mounting teeth broke on this unit. The only way this would happen is if it was not being used properly. Granted, there are no instructions on the packaging, so here is what you do :
The steps are:
1) Back off the adjusting screw in the rear of the unit
2) Place the chain on the REAR teeth (nearest the screw)
3) Turn the adjusting screw until it contacts the back of the chain firmly
4) Turn the handle, making sure the tool pin contacts the centre of the chain pin
The only time you use the FRONT teeth is to gently loosen a tight link. If you try to split a chain using these teeth, you WILL break them.
If used properly, this tool will last for ages.
