Yeti ARC Big Top 29" Hardtail Frameset 2011
The ARC was one of the most famous bikes in the history of Yeti. It boasted the first Easton TaperWall tubeset and set a standard for lightweight. The ARC Big Top is a continuation of the original idea, except it rolls on bigger hoops and a carbon rear triangle. It took Yeti a while to get on the 29’r bandwagon, but once they did, they were all in. They started by making a full-alloy frame, but test riders felt it was a bit stiff, so they added carbon fibre to mellow out the rear end but retain great lateral stiffness. The front end boasts classic Yeti geometry, a little slacker and lower than the other guys. So it retains all the advantages of a 29’r but descends like a Yeti. You can also run your Big Top 29’R as a single speed with a set of single speed drops. The chainstay length is adjustable from 17.3” to 18.0”.
