The ARC was one of the most famous
bikes in the history of Yeti. It boasted the
first Easton TaperWall tubeset and set
a standard for lightweight. The ARC Big
Top is a continuation of the original idea,
except it rolls on bigger hoops and a
carbon rear triangle.
It took Yeti a while to get on the 29’r bandwagon,
but once they did, they were all in.
They started by making a full-alloy frame,
but test riders felt it was a bit stiff, so
they added carbon fibre to mellow out the
rear end but retain great lateral stiffness.
The front end boasts classic Yeti geometry,
a little slacker and lower than the
other guys. So it retains all the advantages
of a 29’r but descends like a Yeti. You can also run your Big Top 29’R as a single speed with a set of single speed drops. The chainstay length is adjustable from 17.3” to 18.0”.
