Rated 1 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1 out of 5 by utterly useless for the purpose it was bought for Bought for emergency use, if need to use a standard tube no a long ride, if I run out of spares. Have been known to get 4 punctures on a ride before now, and I tend to carry 3 spares. However, a standard valve core does not fit, the thread doesn't mesh till it gets to the cap thread. Reading the instructions you need to add PTFE plumbers tape to get a seal, which is not going to stand up to 100psi. Plus, who carries PTFE tape on a ride? The other end is where it really excels. There is an external thread which would screw into a valve body. If only there was not a bayonet end which prevents insertion into a valve body at all. I suppose you could take a hacksaw to it, but I'm disinclined to, because I'm guessing it won't screw in without more PTFE tape... In short, avoid. I bought 2, and they are going straight back. Total waste of time I am guessing they may somehow fit a tubular rim, which is designed specifically for them, but there is no way on earth they are usable as valve extenders for normal inner tubes. Not physically possible. 04 July 2014

I am switching to HED JET 5 aroe wheels,

I have many brand new Bontrager 48MM Presta tubes, but I don't know if the valve core unscrews, will these extenders work for me?

Answer:
These valve extenders are Zipp specific -
• 27 mm (1.05") for older (red) 202 wheel sets.
• 33 mm (1.3") for 303 and new 202 (32 mm profile) dimpled wheel sets.
• 48 mm (1.9") for 404 dimpled wheel sets.
• 72 mm (2.9") for dimpled 808 wheel sets.
• 98.26 mm (3.9") for dimpled 1080 wheel sets.

If your existing tubes have a removable core you may still be able to use these.

Answer:
Should do - pick one the correct length for the depth of your wheel. You'll need a little PTFE plumbers tape to ensure an airtight seal, and you'll be good to go
