MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System)

Made to meet and exceed international standards, Bell also turn to MIPS to add an extra layer of head protection to their 4Forty Air.

The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.

Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head.

Cool and Comfortable

Making sure performance isn’t compromised when the intensity of your ride heats up, the high-end breathability of the 4Forty ensures you stay cool and dry from the first pedal until the last.
