Magura MT8 SL Flatmount Brake

Providing immensely powerful and water-resistant braking performance, this flatmount brake accommodates brake discs up to 180mm (available separately). It features a high-quality carbon lever and a durable aluminium two-piston caliper for reliable braking. It is a perfect choice for cross country (XC) racing.

Flatmount: Flatmount brakes are characterised by integrated threads in the caliper which are fastened with M5 screws. The compact design and integrated threads simplify the mounting on the chain stay. Due to the same brake pad and pistons size of the standard 2-pistons MT brake, the Flatmount brake is just as strong as the Postmount version.

Engineered for Racing: The Carbotecture SL handle bracket and the Carbolay® lever and handlebar clamp make the Magura MT8 brake an absolute lightweight for competition use.

1-Finger HC Carbolay Lever Blade: The popular 1-finger HC lever blade blade is now also available as a carbon version. The lever blade has a comfortable feel and the high-tech material combines ultra-light weight and rigidity, a clear benefit for riders.

Lightweight Performance: Despite its ridiculously low weight the MT8 offers the highest braking power and stability of the 2-piston family. Uncompromising lightweight construction.

Technologies:

Carbotecture SL: Compared to Magura's conventional Carbotecture material, a mixture of high-tech polymers and carbon or glass fibres, for Carbotecture® SL medium-length carbon fibres are integrated into the polyamides instead of short ones in order to further increase resistance and reduce weight at the same time. Carbotecture® SL offers significant advantages over the classic lightweight material aluminium: It is just as tensile and break-resistant with more than 50 % less weight.
Weight Ratio Performance: Magura brakes are characterized by their high degree of thermal resistance, achieved through optimal weight allocation. This is optimal material usage and best-in-class lightweight construction where it's really needed.
magnetiXchange: Magnetic pistons fit perfectly into the brake caliper, guaranteeing quick and easy brake pad replacement.
Shift Mix (optional): With help of the optional Magura's Shift Mix lever clamps Shimano (Shiftmix 1 + 2 / I-Spec I + II) and SRAM (Shiftmix 3 / X9, X0, XX) triggers can be mounted directly to the brake levers in order to accomplish a tidier cockpit.
OPD: Caliper in one-piece design.
Remote Mix (optional): Magura's Remote Mix lever clamp allows the RCL² remote control of Magura forks to be mounted directly to the brake lever in order to improve ergonomics. Installation on both left and right possible.
EBT: Easy Bleed Technology: Easy and fast bleeding.

Please note: The brake is delivered filled and bled. The brake hose can be easily cut to the required length. Flatmount adapters as well as a disc rotor are not included in delivery. These parts are sold separately. Please pay attention to the maximum disc diameter recommended for your fork / frame.
