The Castelli Icon Race Gloves have been created for cyclists who want some shock absorption, a snug fit and protection from road rash should they fall. You could say they're gloves for those of you who don't like wearing gloves. 

In order to keep their Icon Race Gloves as unobtrusive as possible, Castelli keeps the design minimalist. Lightweight fabric, with as few seams as possible, provides a snug, barely-there feel. To give a firm grip and crash-protection, Castelli gives the Icons a two-layer palm with silicone print grip. The Castelli Damping System can also be found on the palm, reducing numbness and at the same time boosting long-ride comfort thanks to absorbing vibrations from the road.

The Castelli Damping System seeks to address this issue by carefully positioning a combination of cushioning foams and protection in key zones across the palm, providing damping from road vibration and increasing control and comfort.
