The TRAIL Steinbeisser Rain Jacket is made using waterproof and breathable Schloss Tex 3L softshell fabric. This prevents water from getting in while simultaneously ensuring you're not drenched in sweat as soon as you start riding hard. As an extra line of defence against the rain, Assos have also added  DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment to prevent rain soaking in and front, shoulders, rear panels, and zippers all get taped seams to prevent water seeping inside. At a mere 230 grams, it's also a jacket you can easily pack away if the weather improves. 

On slippery, wet and muddy trails you need to be nimble and able to move and twist easily. To this end the slim but mountain bike specific trailFit of the TRAIL Steinbeisser lets you move easily. The fit is by no means baggy though, preventing those overhanging branches and overgrown trailside bushes from snagging your jacket as you speed past.

Trail-ready mountain bike features include the dropped tail to protect against tyre spray, a helmet-compatible hood, with helmet strap pass-through, to pull up when conditions are particularly bad and a double-slider front zip to allow you to easily ventilate from the top or the bottom as needs must. Lastly, extended 'Flex-Cuffs' allow full wrist mobility and integrate well with winter gloves so you always have confident control of your mountain bike.
