The warmth is all down to the combination of Polartec® Windbloc® fabric and Polartec® Alpha® Direct Active insulation. Windbloc prevents cold winds penetrating the jacket and robbing body heat while the Alpha® Direct Active insulation is remarkably light but incredibly good at retaining warmth, trapping a layer of air to protect you from the icy tentacles of cold weather. A Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating provides extra protection on dull and damp days too.
