Enhanced with Shimano’s “Shadow+” chain stabilising clutch, the Deore XT M786 rear mechanism delivers excellent chain retention as you take on the toughest trails. Compatible with Shimano's entire 10-Speed mountain bike (MTB) range, it's constructed with fluorine-coated inner bushings for smoother operation and lightning-quick gear changes. The switchable clutch is engaged to add chain tension for riding over tree roots, rock gardens and the toughest sections of the trail, then when you need to remove your rear wheel, simply switch it back to slacken the chain.
