Thomson Road Carbon Handlebar

Thomson's Road Carbon Handlebar will enhance any road bike, thanks to its monocoque carbon fibre construction, mild wing shape and mid/compact reach and drop. The wing shaped top section provides an aero benefit, without being so large as to restrict hand movement when shifting position on the bike. There is also a large clamping area to allow for the addition of TT aero bars.

Superior Construction

The carbon fibre that Thomson uses for its bars is produced by Toray, who are the main supplier to Boeing and Airbus. The bars also benefit from being moulded over an EPS mandrel rather than the cheaper method of using an inflatable nylon bladder. This more advanced construction method avoids wrinkles forming during moulding.

Lasting Comfort

To ensure lasting hand comfort, the underside of the bars allows cable housing to be taped out of the way, rather than using an internal routing design, which can affect the bar’s durability. Also, the layup of the carbon uses 3 different fibre types during construction, allowing the correct amounts of strength and flex where needed.
