The original RSR S9 bib shorts took cycling performance to a new level. But never ones to sit back and relax, the team at Assos have looked for areas to improve. The EQUIPE RSR Bib Shorts S9 TARGA are now more flexible, more supportive and lighter than ever.

Re-engineered fit and fabrics also ease pressure in sensitive areas while maintaining the renowned aerodynamics of its predecessor. And faster-drying fabrics prevent sweat from soaking in and adding weight. After all, every little bit of weight saving counts when you're on the bike. 

A combination of woven Type.701kompressor textile and Ossidia inserts give the shorts a near frictionless fit. Not only that, the ultrathin yarns are extremely elastic, allowing for superb muscle compression and flexibility, ensuring pedalling has never felt easier. 

Carbon Xbib Construction

The A-frame suspension design of the Carbon Xbib limits the vertical stretch to the back of the shorts. This provides a secure and stable position of the S9 seat pad at all times. The Dual-face Carbon material is now quicker drying, an improvement upon the previous single-sided design. 

Built for Speed

As you'd expect, the S9 TARGA shorts are engineered with Assos RacingFit. This second-skin fit maximises your speed while also optimising flexibility and comfort. The leg length is also extended when compared to the Equip RS and Mille GT lines. 

Smooth aerodynamics extends to the leg grippers. The Assos skinGrip cuffs give compressive support across the thighs, with silicone grippers to provide a secure non-slip fit. Minimal transitional ridges between skin and shorts keep airflow smooth. 

A-Lock Engineering

The A-Lock system combines Assos' rollBar bib straps, modified ergoBox, and one-piece Butterfly panel to give you shorts that fit beautifully no matter what. Whether it's high-intensity bursts of speed or long endurance efforts, this engineered design maintains superb stability as you shift weight in and out of the saddle.

S9 Sundeck Insert

Taking their already super-comfortable S9 insert, Assos have made improvements to make it lighter, cooler and minimise its footprint, all to enhance comfort still further. 

The first improvement is what Assos call the Sundeck Superlight. This is a luxuriously soft front panel that increases airflow while eliminating pressure in this most sensitive area. Then comes Assos' whirlKrater. Again this is all about airflow, with copious perforations added throughout the insert, creating a whirlwind of cooling airflow.

What hasn't changed is the odour-resistant top sheet for all-day freshness. You also retain the benefits of 9mm shock-absorbing foam, taking the buzz out of rougher roads. 3D Waffle inserts keep bulk low and allow more air circulation. And Thermoformed shaping reduces ridges and irritation. Lastly, there's the goldenGate. The unique stitching pattern allows the insert to 'float' allowing the pad to move with you for optimal comfort.
