Our whole operation is designed to get your order out the door and on its way to you in the shortest possible timeframe.

Delivery costs and timeframes can vary, depending on the items ordered, the delivery country and the courier service selected. To see which of the below methods are available to you, simply add the desired items to your basket.

When will my order be dispatched?

We aim to process and dispatch orders within 24 hours; however, this can take a little longer during busy periods. Bikes can take up to 5 working days to be prepared for dispatch, as they are built and inspected by our specialist mechanics to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

How Do I Track My Order?

All of our orders are shipped on tracked delivery services.

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with courier tracking details. Please allow time for your parcel to be scanned into the courier’s network before tracking activates. Once scanned, you will be able to keep an eye on the movement of your order and check for delivery updates.

Deliveries can take place from Monday – Sunday, between 08:00 - 20:00, depending on your chosen delivery service.

We recommend providing your contact number during checkout so that you can keep up to date with your delivery and benefit from the inflight options that our couriers offer.


Hermes Delivery

If your order is due to be delivered via Hermes, you may wish to download their app to take greater control over your delivery. With the app, you can track and divert your parcels, as well as set your delivery preferences (such as choosing safe spaces for delivery, opting for contact-free delivery and giving your courier instructions to help with delivery).

You can also do this online by clicking here. Simply enter your tracking number and press "track". Once you have done so, click “Change delivery preferences” and confirm your delivery post code. You will then be given all available delivery options.


Hermes ParcelShop

If you opt to have your order delivered to a Hermes Parcelshop, you will be prompted to enter your home address during checkout. For validation purposes, please ensure this matches up with the address shown on your ID card (photo driving licence, passport, photo ID card etc.) when collecting your parcel. You will also receive an email with an authorisation code and a QR code, which you will need to present when picking up the parcel.

Hermes will notify you when your parcel is ready to be collected.


Next Day Delivery

Our courier partners aim to deliver next day orders the day after the order was placed, as long as the order was made within the relevant cut off time for this service.

Due to courier restrictions, we cannot guarantee next day delivery to a small number of postcodes. Please click here to check if your postcode is included on this list. Whilst next day delivery is not guaranteed to these areas, we will do our best to deliver your order as soon as possible.

95% of our next day orders are delivered on time, although, on rare occasions, it may take up to 2 days due to unforeseen delays. If your order hasn’t arrived when expected, simply get in touch with us via Live Chat so that we can help out. Postage will be reimbursed on any next day order that doesn’t arrive on time (excluding exempt postcodes).

Please note, our Next Day Delivery service may not be available during periods of adverse weather or UK Public Holidays.


Bike and Frame Delivery

Bulky delivery for bikes and frames within the UK is free (this excludes the Channel Islands, which are listed separately at checkout).

Please allow up to 14 working days for a bike to be assembled before being dispatched. This delay is due to increased demand in the run up to the festive period, but our specialist mechanics will endeavour to process your order as quickly as they can.

Please note, orders containing a bike and other items will be split into two consignments and dispatched from our warehouse separately. You will receive a dispatch confirmation email with courier tracking information for each parcel. Typically, the non-bike goods will be shipped first with the bike being shipped once built.

Bulky delivery is usually completed within 2 working days from the date of dispatch.


How will my bike arrive?

All bikes delivered from Chain Reaction to the UK mainland are assembled and inspected by our qualified technicians. Once built, each bike will undergo a rigorous testing programme before being packed into a custom-made box to ensure maximum protection during transit. You may wish to keep hold of your bike box for storage purposes. Our specialist technicians also perform systematic pre-dispatch quality inspections to ensure our bikes meet the strict standards required.

Your bike will be delivered pre-built and tuned. However, you may need to make a few simple adjustments to finalise your set-up. These include:

  • Front wheel – this may have been detached for transit purposes; simply refit the wheel into the fork using the quick-release or thru-axle supplied
  • Handlebar – this may have been rotated or detached for transit purposes; simply refit or rotate the bar to the forward riding position
  • Saddle and seat post – these should be adjusted to your preferred riding position

Lastly, pop on the pedals and your bike will be ready to ride.

Full instructions will be included with your bike, along with all the tools you’ll need to get going.

Please note, children's balance bikes do not have pedals, while their simple construction means they do not require the same service or pre-dispatch checks as normal bikes.


Delivery Restrictions

We strongly advise against requesting delivery to the following delivery points:

  • Hotels
  • Business addresses or workplaces
  • Multiple occupancy premises, such as flats

Chain Reaction cannot be held responsible for damage or loss that occurs to orders addressed to any of the above.

The BFPO website contains a list of goods which may not be shipped to BFPO addresses, including large items such as bikes, frames, trainers, bike boxes and workstands. For more details, click here.

We are currently unable to remove VAT from goods and orders that are shipped to BFPO addresses. However, if you wish to place an order for the items that you require, simply contact us once you have received delivery, and we will refund the cost of VAT back to you. Please note, we can only reimburse the VAT paid on orders within the past 3 months.

How do I select my preferred delivery option?

You can select your delivery options during the checkout process.


Will I receive my order sooner if I pay for delivery?

Yes, we place priority on processing orders that have selected priority or next day delivery.


Can I select the delivery courier for my order?

You cannot select a specific courier for delivery, however when your order is ready to be dispatched, we will consider all of the couriers available to us to ensure the best option is chosen, based on your selected delivery service, parcel weight, parcel dimensions and the value of your order.


Can I amend the delivery address on my order?

Once an order has been processed the delivery address cannot be changed and we are unable to redirect parcels to an alternative address. Please ensure someone will be in to sign for your parcel. If nobody is available, the courier will leave a card or send an email notification with details on how to rearrange delivery or collect your parcel from a local store, if applicable.


Are taxes included in my order?

Orders delivered within the UK are sold inclusive of all taxes and duties.


What should I do if my order hasn’t arrived?

Please keep an eye on your courier tracking details to follow the movement of your parcel. If your order has not arrived within the estimated timeframe and there are no recent tracking updates, please contact us via Live Chat so that we can assist you.
