Perfect for those who like to explore well off the beaten track, it’s built around a lightweight aluminium frame that’s paired up with a UD Carbon fibre fork for ultra-responsive handling. It also comes equipped with a Shimano GRX groupset and wide 650b (27.5”) wheels.

Featuring a T6-6061 double-butted aluminium frame and carbon fork designed to take both 700c and 650b wheels & tyres, the possibilities are endless. This Substance Aluminium bikes take inspiration from their carbon and steel siblings, delivered in a more affordable package, but equally as capable.

Shimano GRX 600 Groupset

Featuring a tapered headtube and full T-700 UD carbon forks, the Substance steel is born tough. This bike is made for round-the-world adventure or dependable and comfortable commuting. With the addition of mounts for mudguards, luggage, and multiple bottles it’s also capable of going anywhere for any amount of time. The Substance VRS-2 is fitted with Shimano’s popular GRX 600 groupset – the world's first dedicated gravel groupset. Paired with the GRX 810 rear mech, this 2x11 speed groupset delivers a smooth and quiet drivetrain, specifically tuned for gravel/adventure riding.

Wide, High-Grip WTB Gravel Tyres

The Substance VRS-2 is fitted with WTB ST Light i23 TCS rims, laced to Alex Bear Pawl hubs and fitted with big volume WTB Venture TCS 47mm tyres. 650b is perfect for adventure cycling with the large outer diameter keeping your wheels rolling over bumps, whilst the added tyre volume allows you to adjust pressures depending on the terrain for grip, comfort and luggage weight. The finishing kit is made up of a Vitus 6061 aluminium handlebar, stem and seat post. The handlebars feature a flat top section for added comfort on and off-road, with the Substance VRS-2 featuring a 16-degree bar flare.

Easy Assembly

When you order a bike, one of our trained mechanics will carefully prepare and pack your bike for shipping. Upon delivery, the assembly is simple and all necessary tools are conveniently included in the box.

Depending on the delivery service and destination, bikes will either be delivered in a large or a small box. Below is a guide as to how your bike will arrive:

• All bikes for delivery within the UK and Republic of Ireland will be delivered in a large box, except for kids’ bikes and BMX bikes, which are always delivered in manufacturer’s boxes.
• All bikes for delivery within the EU on a standard service will be delivered in a large box. If an express delivery option is chosen, your bike will be packed into a small box. Again, the exception is kids’ bikes and BMX bikes, which are always delivered in manufacturer’s boxes.
• All bikes for worldwide delivery outside the EU will be delivered in small boxes.
